Carmichael tells Murphy to ‘bring it on’ on TV debates2.51.00pm GMT Wed 28th Oct 2009 Liberal Democrat Shadow Scotland Secretary, Alistair Carmichael today received a letter from the Secretary of State for Scotland, Jim Murphy MP inviting him to take part in a televised debate during the General Election campaign. He today replied: “Thank you for your letter of 17 October 2009. Bring it on.” Commenting, Alistair Carmichael said: “I look forward to debating with Jim Murphy and other party representatives. “Mr Murphy can explain 12 years of Labour failure and let down to the people of Scotland. “The verdict on that debate will of course be delivered by voters when Gordon Brown eventually plucks up the courage to call an election.”
