Scott warns parties not to stand in the way of change

5.59.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 24th Jun 2009

Commenting ahead of the debate on the Calman Commission, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP said: “The old establishment politics of Westminster have no place here.

“We need a strengthened Parliament within the UK.

“I warn those who prevaricate, dither and dream of long grass that it won’t wash.

“This reform, this change either gets done or you will be run over by people’s impatience – impatience with tired old establishment politics.

“The opportunity and the appetite for stronger devolution, with more powers for the Scottish Parliament, is with us.”
