Lib Dems not convinced on free school meals12.13.42pm GMT Thu 20th Nov 2008 Commenting ahead of the Education Committee taking evidence on the Government's proposals to introduce free school meals for pupils in primaries one to three, Liberal Democrat Education spokesperson Margaret Smith said: "Liberal Democrats are not convinced that the SNP Government's proposals for free school meals is the best use of resources at this time. "From the Government's pilots there appears to be a lack of clear evidence to support free school meals as a means of tackling Scotland's health problems."
